Cognitive Factors and Innovation
Cognitive factors also appear to be associated with the ability to innovate. Research appears to indicate a number of cognitive factors are associated with creativity. For example, medical psychology indicates differences in cognitive processing, ascribing left cerebral cortex to rational thinking and the right brain to intuition.

Cognitive parameters affecting idea production:

-- Associative fluency
-- Fluency of expression
-- Figural fluency
-- Ideational fluency
-- Speech fluency
-- Word fluency
-- Practical ideational fluency
-- Originality
-- Flexibility
-- Elaboration
